Source Music

In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg serves as the basis for this arrangement. Listen to the original and follow along to see how this piece is transformed for the marching floor!

Acoustic Pit

The keyboards of the front ensemble serve as the main melodic and harmonic component throughout this show. Listen to how the orchestra parts are encapsulated through the mallet percussion.

Battery

All of the unpitched marching percussion helps to compliment and contrast the work of the acoustic keyboards in the front ensemble. Listen to how each section of the battery adds unique color, as well as rhythmic interest, to the arrangement.

Percussion

The magic of arranging comes when all the sections work with each other. Listen to the Acoustic Pit and the Battery together to hear how the whole percussion section interacts to create a cohesive musical texture.

Percussion + Sound Design

The final step of the process, sound design, really brings the show to life! Listen to how much deeper and richer the musical texture sounds with sound design compared to the Percussion only track.
